Who needs TOGAF® Certification?

From Corporate perspective: (1) Any organisation using the TOGAF® framework for their Enterprise Architecture Office (EAO) or other frameworks include Zachman, Gartner, DODAF, MODAF etc. (2) Any architects in the EAO core team and IT project teams who follow the TOGAF® framework. From a personal perspective: (1) Your organisation is using the TOGAF® framework and you want to move to an architect role. (2) Your organisation is NOT using the TOGAF® framework, but you want to be an architect for your next career path. (3) You want a recognised and certified certification for your next career move.

Who needs IASA Certification?

From Corporate perspective: (1) All IT professional who needs to understand business and IT alignment. (2) All pre-sales that need to understand how the scope and justify IT value to business (3) All non-IT professional who want to understand what architecture is (eg. head of business / IT auditor/project manager) From personal perspective: (1) You want a recognised and certified certification for your next career move as a Business / Software (Application) / Information (Data) / Infrastructure / Solution Architect. (2) You want to apply IT architecture skills to your job (3) You want to move to the next level of your career where you will be able to present and justify IT value (eg. Team Lead, Head of Department and Director).

If I want to become an architect or build an architecture team, which course(s) should I take?

If you want to be an architect or looking to build an architecture team, here are some of the courses that you should take: (1) TOGAF® and ArchiMate® to set up an Enterprise Architecture Office (EAO). TOGAF® is an EA Framework while ArchiMate is an EA Notation. This is suitable for all the architects that use TOGAF or ArchiMate as a standard for their organisation. (2) IASA BTRA (Business Technology Requirement Architecture) and Enterprise Architecture Core (EAC) is the foundation or fundamental for the Business Technology Architecture Body of Knowledge (BTABoK) to understand project requirement, scope and business IT value justification. This course is suitable for Business Analyst, Pre-sales, Project Manager, Business head, Digital Transformation/Innovation Team and all IT Architects. (3) Business Technology Strategy (BTS) and EA Specialisation (Business/ Solution /AI / Software/Information/ Infrastructure/ Architect). Certified IT Architect – Associate (CITA-A) will be awarded upon passing the EAC and one of the Specialisations' exams. It is highly recommended that you must go through BTRA and/or Enterprise Architecture Core to understand BTABoK before proceeding with specialisation. After specialisation, you can proceed to BTS - This course is suitable for Head of Departments, an architect with specialisation role.

Is it possible to join the TOGAF® Certification Program without taking the fundamental or foundational course(s)?

Yes, you could go straight for the TOGAF® Certification but it will be highly recommended to learn the fundamentals of Enterprise Architecture such as Business Technology Requirement Architecture (BTRA) and Enterprise Architecture Core (EAC) training courses. The reason is that TOGAF® is a methodology-based framework that focuses on how to establish and run an Enterprise Architecture Organisation (EAO). It assumes participants already possess fundamental EA knowledge (e.g., BTABoK skillsets), which are covered in the BTRA and EAC training courses. The TOGAF® course provides step-by-step guidance on what is needed to set up an EAO, but not how to do it. The ‘how’ is covered by BTABoK (Business Technology Architecture Body of Knowledge).

How do I become IASA certified?

Becoming an IASA certified involves completing training requirements, passing a certification exam, and maintaining an active IASA membership. The certification pathway is structured around the Business Technology Architecture Body of Knowledge (BTABoK) and IASA membership information at IASA Membership. Alternatively, you can contact our Program Counsellor for further assistance.

How do I maintain my IASA certification?

Maintaining your IASA certification (CITA-F, CITA-A, or CITA-P) requires a combination of active membership, continuous education, and documented work experience over a two-year cycle. Maintaining your certification and submitting Continuing Education Units (CEUs) requires a full, paid membership. The current annual membership fee is $200. In addition to fulfilling certification requirements, membership also provides access to a range of exclusive benefits and resources. Please see the details at Maintain Your Certification – IASA Global.

Are the certifications the same across all regions where these courses are offered?

As the certification courses are offered by our principals (IASA, The Open Group), hence, these certifications are valid globally regardless of which country the courses and exams were taken.

What is the difference between The Open Group and IASA courses?

The Open Group is one of the enterprise architecture framework focused organisations that offer training and certifications on their architecture framework, while IASA is a non-profit organisation that offers IT Architecture skill training and certifications based on Business Technology Architecture Body of Knowledge (BTABoK).

How does my IASA certification get displayed as a badge?

Once you have completed the IASA examination, you will receive a confirmation email with your certification results and certificate within 7 working days. We will also issue you an Acclaim badge. A digital badge is another way to represent your certification achievement. To claim your badge, select the link in the confirmation email. You will then need to create an Acclaim account if you do not already have one. Once you claim your badge and confirm your acceptance, you can share the badge on LinkedIn, Twitter, your blog and your email signature block. To learn more on digital badges visit our Digital Certification Badge – IASA APAC .

What is CEUs?

CEUs (Continuing Education Units) are units representing one hour of activity that are used to quantify approved professional development activities. IASA quantifies these units through three auditable categories: Education, Contribution and Practice.

How to earn CEUs?

CEUs can be earned through professional learning and contribution. These two components support both the development of the certification holder and the advancement of the architecture profession as a whole. The following outline indicates multiple opportunities in which credential holders may earn CEUs.

How do I maintain the Continuing Education Units (CEU) to keep the digital badge?

It is important to note that to maintain your certification, you must submit Continuing Education Units every two years. IASA credential holders are required to collect at least 80 hours of CEU’s (the equivalent of two work weeks) bi-annually. In combination with obtaining CEU’s, the credential holder is also required to have worked as an architect for a period of at least 16-weeks. All CEU’s can be submitted at one time or at your convenience within that period.

If a certified architect fulfils the CEU requirement every two years cycle but does not renew his full membership, is the certification still valid?

The membership must be active at the time of the renewal. No membership means no certification. Certified individuals just need to enter CEUs every two years and maintain their membership. There should not be a re-application process. Active members may enter CEUs at IASA Global Education Portal.

What happens if a certified architect does not report the required CEUs within the two-year period, do they need to retake the course and exam?

Please note that if a certified architect does not report required CEUs prior to the two-year reporting deadline, their certification will expire. If you let your certification expire after its two year cycle, you must re-apply for the certification. Please reach out to IASA’s support team if you have any questions about the program or need assistance in reporting your hours: contactus@iasaglobal.org

Where can I get the course pricing?

Please contact our Program Counselor via http://atdsolution.com/contact-us/

What is the reason for the change in course pricing?

ATD Solution reserves the right to adjust prices from time to time to reflect market conditions.

If I have already paid for a training course and the price is later reduced, will I be refunded the difference?

If the course fee is reduced after your payment but prior to the start of the class, you will receive a refund for the difference. In addition, we would normally ensure one price for an entire class for fairness. However, if you are comparing prices for classes that have already ended, it means we have adjusted our pricing, and we would not entertain requests of giving back the difference.

Are there any promotions or discounts for the training courses?

From time to time, ATD Solution runs promotions and discounts, visit here http://atdsolution.com/enterprise-architecture/promotion/. These promotions are usually specific to countries and particular courses, and have specific payment terms. Please read the promotions terms and conditions carefully. Alternatively, you may also contact our Program Counsellors for more promotion details via http://atdsolution.com/contact-us/.

Why do ATD Solution have different prices on the same courses for different countries?

Due to differing cost structures and currencies, it is not possible to standardise pricing across all countries.

Is there a way to access the pricing offered in a particular country?

Yes, you may attend the course in a specific country and benefit from its pricing. However, please consider any additional travel and accommodation costs. We frequently have international participants joining our courses across different regions.

Does ATD Solution offer corporate or customised training classes?

The published prices are only valid for individual sign-ups. Please contact us for corporate prices or customised classes.

Can I reserve a course without providing payment?

Unfortunately, no. For individual customers, seat reservation will only be assigned upon full payment. Seats are reserved in the order payments are received.

Why are exam vouchers issued only after full payment is received

Exam vouchers are purchased by ATD Solution on behalf of participants. Before participants made full payment, we would have already delivered the instruction and the cost material. However, vouchers are a significant upfront cost for us, hence, we need to ensure the payment has been received before releasing the exam vouchers to participants. This is our company policy. When you sign up for training course(s), you shall agree to this condition. This condition also applies to corporate customers and customised classes. For organisations with multi-day payment terms, participants will receive their exam vouchers and be eligible to attempt the certification exams only after full payment has been made.

Does the issued exam voucher(s) have an expiry date?

Yes, PersonVue’s exam voucher(s) issued by The Open Group have a one-year validity from purchased date. Vouchers validity would lapse after that date.

What happens if my exam voucher expires?

Candidates typically receive a voucher with a 12-month validity and are encouraged to use it before the expiry date.

If I fail the certification exam, can I re-take the exam for free?

For The Open Group Certification It’s complimentary for the first retake attempt based on availability. You will need to provide your score report in PDF format to review if you are eligible for the retake voucher. You must wait at least one (1) month after your initial exam attempt before taking a retake. For IASA Certification ATD Solution allows one (1) exam retake. Please note that the retake must be completed within 30 days of the first attempt. For CITA–F and CITA–A courses, retakes are subject to an additional fee.

Can I re-attend the same class to prepare for exam-retake for free?

Yes, please call your local Program Counsellor to book a seat at the next available class. This privilege is only provided if we have extra seating capacities. You will need to bring your own course materials, as we would not provide a second copy for you.

Can I re-attend the same class, even though I haven’t attempted the exam?

You will need to bring your course materials. Please contact your Program Counsellor to book a re-sit.
