Dr. Fazilah Shaik Allaudin
Deputy Director of eHealth Planning Unit
Ministry of Health Malaysia
Dr. Fazilah presently heads the eHealth Planning Unit of the Planning Division, Ministry of Health Malaysia. Her responsibilities cover eHealth strategic planning, health information exchange planning & management and eHealth collaborations domestically, regionally and at the international levels. She has been with the Ministry of Health for over 25 years. A significant portion of her career has been in managing and coordinating new health facility development projects, mainly Hospital Information Systems.
Dr. Fazilah has also been extensively involved in business process reengineering, change management and health informatics standards including the development of Malaysia’s National Health Data Dictionary.
Over 2009-2011, she was appointed as the Deputy Director of Selayang Hospital and in this role, she managed clinical, management and operational aspects of the hospital.
Since 2010, she has been leading the ICT Technical Working Group of the national health system transformation agenda. In this capacity, she led the Malaysia Health System Reform Study 2015-2016 in Health Information Systems and continues to be extensively involved in ICT strategies and implementation.
She has been directly involved in ICT strategies of the 5-year Malaysia Plans and the on-going Information System Strategic Plan 2016-2020. In 2014, she was appointed as the lead for eHealth at the National Economic Transformation Programme.
At the international level, she is an active council member of Asia eHealth Information Network (AeHIN) focused on strengthening health information systems across the region. She is also the ICT lead for Joint Learning Network (JLN) country core group focused on achieving universal health coverage.
Dr. Fazilah holds an M.D. from the National University of Malaysia and an MBA from the University of Toledo, Ohio. She is also certified in TOGAF (Foundation) and COBIT (Implementation).
